San Quentin is the moniker of Munich-based producer and DJ Quentin Lichtblau. He's into all kinds of leftfield music, from proto to acid to post-xyz, drawing on repetitive rhythms from all kinds of cultures and planets. This wide-angle approach to club music feeds directly into his productions and performances, that cover everything from peak time four to the floor sounds to more ambient droney stuff.

He has released tracks and EPs on labels like Permanent Vacation, Mosaique Records, Dionysian Mysteries and Munich underground label Alternative Fakten, whose label office is also his production homebase. His tracks have been remixed by acclaimed artists like Anatolian Weapons and Dimitri Veimar. While still being part of Munich's DIY music scene, he has also played international festivals in France or Croatia, club institutions such as Wilde Renate or Kater Holzig in Berlin or in more high culture settings such as Munich Kammerspiele. His focus has lately shifted towards live performances or hybrid sets to generate a more improvised and challenging setup for himself and his audience.
